Between the villages of Coripe and Olvera, on the Via Verde Route, on top of a tall rock, we can find one of the largest breeding colonies of Griffon Vultures. I counted at least a hundred individuals.

From the Coripe train station, which is actually not a station but a hotel and restaurant where you can also rent bikes, it takes about an hour and a half to reach the rock on an easy, flat track. The views are interesting, but don't visit this place in the middle of summer or you will get roasted, because there is no shade, with the exception of the tunnels. The longest one I crossed during the walk was almost 200 metres long and sufficiently lit inside.

Quite a lot of birds can be heard along the way, but you have to be lucky to see them. Most of them are Goldfinches and Sardinian Warblers. |

If you are interested in seeing a lot of Griffon Vultures, this is definitely a good spot to visit.
