BIRDING TRIP: Santa Teresa Park, Jerez de la Frontera, Spain

We are heading towards what will probably the hottest period of the summer in the south of Spain. Not ideal circumstances to go birding, but I decided to go and do some short location scouting in an already familiar spot: the Santa Teresa Park in Jerez de la Frontera. As soon as the temperature allows it I would like to go back to this place to install a small bird bath to photograph the birds from a small portable hide.

I didn't spend too long here today, but long enough to find a handful of suitable locations for future shoots. I also managed to spot more than fifteen different bird species.

Female House Sparrow on barbed wire

Nice perch for a future photo shoot

Plenty of these to remember for a shoot next spring

Juvenile Blackbird

Wood Pigeon

Sardinian Warbler

Great Tit

Greenfinch

Cattle Egret

Western olivaceous Warbler

At 11 AM it had already got too hot to stay out any longer so I decided to go back to our facilities. With a few interesting locations written down, it is now a matter of waiting until this heatwave finally comes to an end to go back and test the dripping system.
